Kirk Nordenstrom

Krk Nordenstrom is a video editor, director, writer, producer, film festival organizer and film industry activist in Seattle. He began his career in filmmaking in 2001 after being laid off from a lucrative job as a graphics production artist. Having studied photography at UC Santa Cruz and the Academy of Art College in San Francisco, filmmaking seemed like the next logical step. He began a new life as a freelance video editor who also taught most aspects of filmmaking from production through post at Seattle Film Institute and the UW Continuing Education program.

‚ÄčIn 2005, Krk brought the 48 Hour Film Project to Seattle and has grown it into the largest filmmaking competition in the Pacific Northwest and one of the largest in the country. In 2012, Krk got very involved with the Washington State Film Incentive and has continued pushing for its increase as a community coordinator and activist. His passion and goal is to engage and empower the local filmmaking community to #keepfilminwa.
