Joel West – Seattle Shorts Film Festival

Joel P. West is a songwriter and film composer  whose work draws on the wilderness and open spaces of North America. He has released several albums with his bands The Tree Ring and Flood Coats, and his feature film credits include Short Term 12 (SXSW 2013), About Alex (Tribeca 2014), and Grandma (Sundance 2015).After studying graphic design at Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) in San Diego, California he received the Creative Catalyst: Individual Artist Fellowships grants that funded The Tree Ring’s second record. West has released three solo albums, and recently scored a documentary, I Am Sun Mu (Raindance 2015), about a North Korea defector artist Sun Mu.
